Electric vehicles use a lithium battery to store energy, when charged directly from renewable sources such as solar and wind this process is considered carbon-neutral. As no chemical fuels are used to power the vehicles, no emissions are produced at the exhaust.

Batteries are well-suited to smaller modes of transport such as motorbikes and cars, but can also be sensible for fleets of trucks depending on their intended use. There are already a wide range of battery vehicle providers and electrical recharging points across Europe, making it easier to transition to electric fleets.
